Organization of American States

The Director of the General Secretary of the Organization of American States in Nicaragua wishes to specially recognize "Wings of Valor" for its unwavering dedication, its untiring cooperation and the devoted work carried out on behalf of the most needy peasant populations in the northern part of the country.

The donations consisting of medical equipment, medicines, clothing, and food which Wings of Valor has brought to this country have significantly helped the men, women and children of these communities that have suffered the havoc of a recent war, the aftermath of which manifests in the conditions of extreme poverty they still live in.

We especially commend Janet Ray Weininger and Rosario Saavedra-Román's commitment, as they have dedicated their valuable time, their unconditional work, and who have traveled the rugged territory in order to personally deliver the donations.

The deeds undertaken by Wings of Valor constitute an extraordinary example of cooperation, transparent assistance, and disinterested human solidarity.  The OAS team in Nicaragua, especially Dr. Alejandro Ortega who has very closely collaborated with the distribution of the donations is honored to have been of assistance in such admirable project.

Our best wishes and special appreciation go to Janet and Rosario for their friendship, trust and affection.  We are proud to have been part of this collaborative effort.
